Edgecombe County is considering applying to the North Carolina Department of Commerce for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for Economic Development.
CDBG programs permit a wide range of development activities to occur which are directed towards promoting the creation of jobs, enhancing income levels and providing local employment opportunities principally for persons of low and moderate income.
Edgecombe County will conduct a Public Hearing on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Meeting Room, Second Floor of the County Administration Building in Tarboro. The purpose of the Hearing is to obtain citizens’ input into the identification of economic needs and desired economic development activities. The input from the Hearing will be incorporated into the County’s consideration and submission of a CDBG application to the Department of Commerce.
