The Edgecombe County Office of Emergency Services priority is providing the highest level of service and care to the citizens of Edgecombe County through the coordinated efforts of both volunteer and career organizations working together prior to, during, and after an emergency.

We have three primary functions: Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, and the Fire Marshal's Office.

The Emergency Management Department serves the citizens of Edgecombe County through a four-step process. Planning and preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation for both natural and man-made disasters.

The Emergency Medical Services section serves the citizens and visitors of Edgecombe County by responding to requests for emergency medical assistance. Our prehospital professionals staff six ambulances 24/7, one "peak-time" ambulance from 7a-8p, and two supervisors aboard QRVs 24/7. We operate one staff member during the week through the Community Paramedic Program. To learn more about our EMS team or Community Paramedic Program be sure to click on the EMS tab located on the left side of the page.

The Fire Marshal's Office serves as the liaison between county government and the nine in-county and five out -of-county volunteer fire departments that serve the citizens of Edgecombe County. This section is also responsible for carrying out the requirements of the North Carolina Fire Prevention Code, fire inspections, as well as conducting fire education programs upon request.
