Emergency Services
The Emergency Management section serves the citizens of Edgecombe County through a four-step process. These are planning/preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation for both natural and man-made disasters.
The Emergency Medical Services section serves the citizens and visitors of Edgecombe County by responding to requests for emergency medical assistance. Our prehospital professionals staff six emergency ambulances and two QRV supervisor units 24/7. We also have a non-emergency division that staffs 3 non-emergency ambulances. These units provide scheduled medical transports and back up for our emergency division. To learn more about our EMS team, please on the EMS tab located on the left side of the page.
The Fire Marshal section serves as the liaison between county government and the nine in-county and five out -of-county volunteer fire departments that serve the citizens of Edgecombe County. This section is also responsible for carrying out the requirements of the North Carolina Fire Prevention Code, as well as conducting fire education programs upon request.
The Edgecombe County Office of Emergency Services goal is to provide the highest level of service and care to the citizens of Edgecombe County through the coordinated efforts of both volunteer and career organizations working together prior to, during, and after an emergency.
