Redistricting

Following the 2020 Census, the Board of Commissioners had to determine if the Seven (7) Commissioners' Districts were substantially equal. With the 2020 population of the County at 48,902, the Board had to see if each district is now within the permissible range of +/- 5% of the ideal district size of 6,986.   If not, then the Board must redraw those districts so that each one falls within that range.

The Board found that the districts are not substantially equal. There are four (4) districts that are now outside of this acceptable range (Districts 1, 3, 4, & 7).

UPDATE: At their meeting on November 1, 2021, the Board of Commissioners Approved Alternative A.
