Tarboro, NC - October 3, 2022:  Eric Evans, Edgecombe County Manager, is happy to announce the selection of Antwan Brown as the County’s new Emergency Services Director. He will lead a team of ninety employees and is responsible for managing all activities of the Emergency Services Department, which include Emergency Management, Fire Marshall and Emergency Medical Services.

Mr. Brown has a bachelor’s degree from NC Wesleyan University and a Master’s from NC State University. He has worked in the EMS field for over thirteen years, with the last eighteen months as an EMS Paramedic Supervisor for the County. He also served as the Chief of the Princeville Fire Department for the last five years.     

“Antwan has exhibited great leadership abilities.”, said Eric Evans, County Manager. “I believe he has a great combination of experience and potential, and I am very excited for him and our Emergency Services Department”.

Mr. Brown is a native of Edgecombe County.

Mr. Brown stated, “It is a great honor to have been chosen to lead the Emergency Services Department. I am excited and committed to the work we do in all aspects of Emergency Services.”
