Important COVID-19 Update!

Groups 1 through part of Group 4 are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.  The Edgecombe County Health Department and other providers in the County are offering the vaccine. See below on how to make an appointment. Those in Group 4 that are eligible are:
  • Anyone 16-64 years old with high-risk medical conditions that increase the risk of severe disease from COVID-19 such as cancer, COPD, serious heart conditions, sickle cell disease, Type 2 diabetes, among others, regardless of living situation
  • Anyone who is incarcerated or living in other close group living settings who is not already vaccinated due to age, medical condition or job function
  • Essential workers not yet vaccinated. The CDC defines these as workers in transportation and logistics, water and wastewater, food service, shelter and housing (e.g., construction), finance (e.g., bank tellers), information technology and communications, energy, legal, media, public safety (e.g., engineers) and public health workers.
The rest of Group 4 will become eligible on April 7th

If you already have an appointment scheduled with the Edgecombe Co. Health Dept., and you end up going somewhere else for your vaccination, please contact us at 252-563-4600 to let us know so we can open that spot for someone else.
