Employment Opportunities

If you are first starting out as an EMS provider or if you have years of experience, Edgecombe County is the perfect place for you. The county offers an excellent benefit package that is valued over $10,000 annually.

Full-time 911 Work Schedule: ECEMS operates a 24/72 shift schedule (work 24 hours followed by 72 hours off). Total hours worked per year are estimated to be around 2,190. Shift change occurs at 7:00am. Example of a work week: 24-hour shift beginning on Monday at 0700, off duty at 0700 Tuesday, back to work on 0700 on Friday. The pattern then continues.

Transport/Convalescent Division Work Schedule: There are various options of shift schedules within our medical transport division. 8-hour shifts, 13-hour shifts, etc. For more information, please contact our Transport Supervisor Karla Braddy.

Salary figure / 2080 gives the regulatory hour rate of pay. Use this number then to calculate based upon the 2190.
