Mission

The Department of Information Resources Management (DIRM) provides County-Wide Support for all  computer systems. The department is responsible for analyzing and implementing the technology needs of all County departments, according to hardware and software needs of the department.

DIRM plans, assists in purchases, manages, and maintains the computer hardware, software, and networking infrastructure to support the many Departments of the County in providing their services to the citizens.

The staff of each department is equipped with computer equipment and the software necessary for that staff member to work effectively. Each of these desktops is connected to an extensive network that communicates with the server and minicomputers that provide the computing power for the County.

The IT Department maintains a highly skilled staff to support the Departments and maintains this extensive infrastructure. The services DIRM provides include such things as E-mail, Internet access, network resources, web information, and Network Management.

Our goal is to provide the best possible support to the Departments of the County so that they may serve the citizens of Edgecombe County effectively and efficiently.
