Animal Control
Animal Control consists of two animal control officers who patrol Edgecombe County and respond to calls from citizens dealing with domesticated animals. Animal Control’s daily operations are overseen by a Lieutenant in the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office. The animal control officers patrol the county Monday thru Friday, and are on call nights, weekends, and holidays to respond to emergency animal calls.
The Animal Shelter is located behind the Edgecombe County Health Department on Main St. in Tarboro. Hours of operation are 9:00 am - 11:00 am, Monday thru Friday except on holidays. Shelter phone number is 641-4112, for all calls for service, call 641-7911.
