Hospice

Hospice provides specialized care for individuals facing a life limiting illness. The Hospice focus in on managing symptoms and providing support by addressing the physical, spiritual, and psychosocial needs of the patient and family as opposed to seeking a cure.

In 1989, Edgecombe Home Health launched a joint venture with the Hospice Foundation of Edgecombe County, Inc. that enhanced the Hospice component of home care. Hospice is certified to provide Hospice Medicare Benefits (HMB). Services are billable to Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurances. The Foundation assists the Hospice program by supplementing the volunteer and bereavement programs, assisting with pain and nausea medication and addressing the other unique needs of the program. Hospice Foundation of Edgecombe County is a United Way Agency.
