How do I submit a repair application?
A repair application can be processed over the telephone, mailed in or submitted in person to Edgecombe County Environmental Health office in Tarboro.
When is a repair permit required?
A repair permit is required any time a septic system is to be repaired. A repair consists of redirecting/adding line or replacing a complete septic tank. A repair permit is not required for maintenance of the septic system. Pumping the tank or replacing a lid would be examples of maintenance.
Who is responsible for the repair?
There is no fee accessed for a repair permit. The listed owner per Edgecombe County Tax records will be considered the owner of the property and all correspondence will be directed to the name and address listed on the tax record.
