   Edgecombe Board of Commissioners Recognize America's Best Choir

Salvation and Deliverance Church Choir received a commendation from the Board of Commissioners. This homegrown Edgcombe Choir beat out several other choirs to win the overall best choir at Verizon's national competition "How Sweet the Sound". To read more,visit the website.

The Edgecombe County Board of Commissioners is looking for citizens who are willing to lend their time and talents to various boards and commissions. This is a great way to serve your community in areas where you may have interest and/or experience.

There are currently vacancies on the following boards and commissions: City of Rocky Mount Board of Adjustment; Human Relations Commission; Council on Aging; City of Rocky Mount Planning and Zoning Commission; and the Edgecombe County Board of Adjustment.

    Don't Forget to Cover Your Load

To prevent litter and waste, Edgecombe County Code of Ordinances require that all loads of trash and debris transported on the highway are to be properly covered. You can be fined $25 for uncovered loads. If you have received that fine,  you may purchase a tarp to cover your loads and show proof of purchase at the Solid Waste Office at 2821 Colonial Road, and the fine will be dropped.
