Edgecombe County uses an optical scan voting machine that reads ovals that are completely filled in by the voter using the pen provided.  Simply fill in the oval of the candidate for whom you wish to vote as shown below:

After voting all contests that you wish to vote, place the ballot into the optical scan voting machine.  Your votes will be counted by the machine and your ballot will be stored in the locked ballot box until all ballots are removed for transport to the Board of Elections office after the polls close.
